One of the things I've purchased on Amazon is a pair of Levi 505 regular fit jean and while I can get free shipping to my US address within the USA, I have to pay an additional fee to my agent for sending it to Nigeria.

The cost of shipping a pair of Levi 505 jeans or any other jeans for that matter depends on the shipping weight and you can estimate this before requesting for the shipping service.

Based on my experience, a pair of jeans weighs about 3 lbs or 1.36 kg and so the estimated cost of sending it to Nigeria using DHL, Fedex or UPS is $92, $81 and $123 respectively for express services. Given that a pair of Levi 505 jeans cost about $40 on Amazon, it may make more economic sense to buy 10 pairs rather than just 1 so as to reduce the shipping cost per unit. I've used the shipping cost estimator provided by my US shipping agent and found out that if I were to buy 10 pairs and ship them using the same channel, the total shipping cost would be $380, $340 and $700 for the 3 courier services. That has already reduced the delivery cost to Nigeria to $38, $34 and $70 per unit respectively. You may also be charged extra fees as custom duty by the courier companies when your goods arrive Nigeria.

The US shipping company I'm using normally makes use of international delivery service providers such as DHL, Fedex or UPS to deliver it to Nigeria through airplanes to cross over the ocean and then using vehicles to do a home delivery by the time it's in Nigeria. It is much faster shipping clothes by air from the USA to Nigeria than shipping it through the ocean using ships but it's' also more expensive and recommended for those who want a more convenient service without considering the cost.

Actually, it doesn't make much economic sense importing clothes or jeans from the USA using services like DHL and Fedex if you can just get the same item you are looking for at a local boutique in Nigeria but if you don't find what you are looking for in Nigeria, then shopping on Amazon would offer you more options.

There are many people in Nigeria who may want to buy clothes, shoes and other fashion items they just don't find in Nigeria or in the quality they want. Well, they can get it directly from Amazon by partnering with a US shipping service provider. At times it can be a bit more expensive but you will definitely find the quality, size and right brand you are looking for.

I recently visited a Levi shop in Lagos looking for a particular jean type and size but they didn't have my size even through I'm not fat or short. The sizes they have were either too wide or too short/tall meaning that a tailor would have to do extra mending if I were to buy it. On Amazon, I was able to find the right jean quality and size I really needed since I know my exact size.

There are probably many places where you can buy jeans in Nigeria but if you don't find the right size, quality or colour of jeans you are looking for, you are more likely to find it on Amazon. Just get a US shipping company to help you get it to Nigeria.
