Amazon: Sorry, this item can't be shipped to your selected address

If you want to buy things from Amazon.com, I have to say that it's a great shopping destination as I've hardly had any regrets buying things from them. What I've come to know about shopping on Amazon.com is that they mostly deliver to US addresses because it's a US based company and most sellers listed on their platform are based in the USA. I guess in the future when there is an Amazon website geographically targeted at Nigerian buyers such as on an Amazon.ng or amazon.com.ng, they may start delivering fully to Nigerian addresses.

There are at times when I'be purchased things on Amazon and used my Nigerian addresses as the delivery address and they delivered the items I purchased directly to me in Lagos but for most times, they would only deliver to a US based address and for that I made use of a US shipping agent.

If you've tried to buy things on Amazon and get an error saying, "Sorry, this item can't be shipped to your selected address", it basically means that Amazon doesn't offer direct shipping to your given address and you may have to only provide a US based address for the item to be delivered to you. It doesn't mean they won't accept your credit/debit card but it's the shipping address they have a problem with and you'd have to change it. An option you have may be to only buy things from Amazon that they can directly ship to you as an international buyer and you can check them out on a page I call items that Amazon can offer direct international shipping to.

If you'd still rather want to buy that specific item and don't have a US shipping address, then you'd need to first get a US shipping address through a mail forwarding service and then use the address they gave you for your shopping on Amazon. The service they would provide is to first give you a US address, help warehouse your goods and then send it to you using an international courier provider like DHL, UPS or Fedex.

When you use the new US address that you have been provided, Amazon will ship the item to that address and you can track it until it gets delivered to your US address and from there it will be sent to you in Nigeria within 5 working days. It is that easy. Problem solved!
