I recently received my package of Wahl replacement clipper blades in Nigeria through DHL. I bought them from Amazon along with a couple of other products. It was specifically a WAHL Professional 2 Hole Precision Clipper Blade (Model:1045-100) that was sold for $10.88 per unit. I bought 3 units of it which cost a total of $32.64(about N6,804.27) and paid with my Naira Mastercard while also choosing to have it shipped to my US address through Free shipping.

When shopping on Amazon, one of the ways through which one can minimize his shopping costs it by taking advantage of free shipping and for me, that meant buying eligible goods worth a total of at least $25.

One of the things I consider when buying stuff on Amazon is the shipping weight of the product and for the Wahl replacement clipper blades, the listed shipping weight was 4.8 ounces(about 0.3 lbs) but when I finally received the 3 units at my US address, it checked a total of 0.6 lbs instead of the 0.9 lbs I calculated it to be.

I purchased a lot of other items on Amazon and had them consolidated as a single package at my US warehouse through the help of my US shipping agent and it clocked a total of about 7 lbs and with an estimated international shipping cost of $124. by DHL express.

I requested for it to be shipped when I was ready and my card was debited with $124.85 for the 7 lbs package I chose to ship and this meant the Wahl clipper blades would now cost me an additional $10.70 as their own share of the international shipping costs to Nigeria. If I had purchased more of those replacement blades, I may have been able to further reduce the international shipping cost per unit for the item.

If I had purchased and shipped 10 lbs worth of Wahl clipper blades, it would have cost me about $155.78 for international shipping and that would mean I have to buy up to 50 units making a total purchase cost of $544. This would now give a total acquisition cost for the entire package of $699.78 and hence each unit would be have cost me about $14 to acquire in Nigeria excluding any import duties.

Well, I just purchased a sample to see if it would fit well into my existing Wahl clipper or sell it off if it didn't. I've checked and noticed that this particular blade is not readily available in Nigeria and I'm thinking of importing more to resell to people for profit because I know a lot of Nigerians have Wahl clipper blades but just don't know where they can buy original Wahl replacement blades from the market especially the high quality ones made in the USA.
